I know i critisized WALL-E (cuz it was boring. In which it really was.)
But all is forgiven cuz Bolt is exasperately loaded with awesomeness!

(Erm... anyone sense an "awesomeness" ripoff here?
Or did Dreamworks and Disney strike a deal to sell that poor word 'til it dies of overexposure?)

If you're a pet lover then you sure enjoy la.
Possibly even shed a tear or 2 at the scene where Mittens tells her story of negligence.. or the part where Bolt just steps back into the shadows with the carrot in his mouth...

The New Room Mate

IS HE REAAALLY THAT BAD?

I have a new roommate.
It's an AMD.
Sits on the place my former CPU used to be.
Thing is, every time i tell people what he is, an instant URK-i-can't-BELIEVE-you-got-an-AMD face pops up like someone cucuk their backside with an acid dipped spear.

Colleague 1: So what did you get?
Me: an AMD.
Colleague: (instantly turns face away in utter disgust) but whyyyyyyy......

Colleague 2: So what processor you buy?
Me: Erm. An AMD.
Colleague: ...... u stupid ah????......

IT Salesman: bla bla bla INTEL bla bla bla GET INTEL blabla DUN GET AMD bla bla...
Me: I want an AMD.
IT Salesman: .............. bla bla bla DUN GET AMD bla bla bla INTEL GOOD bla bla...

Brother says get AMD.

So i trust GeniusWesternDigitalComputerEngineer brother and got myself an AMD.

I've heard the pros and cons.
It's my hard-earned-sleepless-nights money.
I can do what i want with it.

*....deeep breaths....*

I dunno why i let people get to me so friggin easily when it comes to things i purchase.
Same thing happened with the new camera.
When i bought it, there wasn't a sense of joy.
No sense of satisfaction like when you buy new clothes or new shoes...
for me it was just pure anxiety.

A tugging feeling that i did something wrong and there was no way in hell i would be able to right it.

That's how i felt about the camera.
That's how i feel about the AMD.
Dun even get me started on the Graphic card.... and the CPU casing....

But the thing is... i know i tried my best to save.
I did as much research (or bug ppl to research for me) as i could.
I called up different shops to compare prices.
I didn't make any impulsive decisions.
and i KNEW i didnt wanna get a MAC. (Phew. this one i dun feel bad AT ALL :) )

Maybe it's the obsessive compulsive disorder groaning.
Could be the fact that i feel utterly and totally uncomfortable forking out 2.7k in 1 single day.

Go die la.

YELLOW RANGER

I was YouTube-ing "POWER RANGERS" today. (...dun ask....)
Then i came across some very very shocking news about the original Yellow Ranger, actress Thuy Trang.

She's dead.

Apparently killed in a car crash in 2001 not long after leaving the show.

My heart literally sank when i saw this.

PowerRangers was such a huge part of my childhood... *sob*

I still remember the GoGoPowerRangers song so clearly in my head.
The monsters i used to draw and draw and draw during my free time.
The "fights" i used to have with my cousins when the whole gang came over @ 7pm.

I know it's 7 years too late but... Rest in Peace Trini.

I'm sad now.

AMERICAN GODS

4 MONTHS.

4. friggin. months.

That's how long it took me to finish AMERICAN GODS.

AhYong's bday prezie to me almost half a year ago. Xie Xie Yong. :)

Either my reading speed has deteriorated to that of a 5 year old or my attention span has.
Either way, gone are the days when reading was an addiction, when sheer exhilaration makes you emerse yourself so much in a story that you lose track of time just flipping the pages....

I kept looking at the clock non-stop when i was reading American Gods. -_-
So many times i ended up using the book as pillow, waking up to drool-pool slapped in the middle of one of Shadow's conversations with Wednesday, paper fold marks on my face @ 4am.

Maybe it's me. Maybe it's the pace of the story. Maybe it's me.

I remember finishing Coraline in just a week.
(yala i know it's considered daaaamn long ady, but for a slowpoke like me...it's veteran speed-reading level weh...)
Deathly Hallows in 2.

This is a personal record man.
Or maybe i really can ONLY enjoy kiddy novels.

I feel so....... discouraged.

The story wasn't bad.
After all.. it's Neil Gaiman.
What's not to like?
I wouldn't consider myself a fan.
Just curious.
No regrets reading this.
I'd say it's an owh-kay read.
Not a waste of time.

But seriously, it gets draggy.
By the end of the story i was going "huh? so that's it? ok."

Through American God's (And my horrible encounter with the Colour of Magic), i have also come to realize that i am not a name person.
There were so many names in the story that i couldnt recall who was who as the plot unfolded.
Main characters were fine.
It's the sub-characters who drift in and out of the plot that blur me.
And the thing is, you need to pay attention to every single detail as the story goes along.
Then you can catch a hint here & there before the twist hits you and you go "AH. I SEE..."

Somemore i dun like reading long discriptions about stuff.
How the nose pointed like a curved carrot.
How the teeth aligned so well you'd think it was surgically constructed.
How the eyes drooped down so low that you can sense the untold sadness of the character from a mile away.

You get the idea.

But i really like the premise of the story.
How the old Gods are fighting the new Gods.
Odin. Loki. Kali. Easter.
TV Gods. Car Gods. Aeroplane Gods. Media.

American Gods. 4 months. Done.

Next. Twilight.

THAT TIME OF THE MONTH AGAIN

WAH. LAU.
I am so deep drowned in work right now that peeing is a luxury.

If you see me with my hand over my chin,
headphones over my ear,
hostile-deep-in-thought face plastered all over....
DUN COME AND TALK TO ME.
DUN SLAP ME ON THE BACK and expect a witty over-dramatic come-back.
DUN FINGER-POKE ME and wait for a funny response.

It's annoying.

(Only when i'm tensed & pressured. Other times can still consider.
i said "CAN STILL CONSIDER" ah! NOT "CAN!".)

The colleagues just don't get that. Aih.
Then end up i still need to layan eventhough i'm seriously tensioned inside. -_-
Gimme my Oscar man.

OH WELL.

I havent done reviews in awhile so this time i wanna kick off some pent-up steam.

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3 - was just ok for me.

Not enough group-cast songs.
Group as in EVERYONE in the cast sing in 1 song.
ZacF & VanessaHud duet overdose.
Cannot tahan Zac & Van's singing face.
Lip sync - out.

HSM 1 & 2 had their lip-sync out as well. Too fake.

Or maybe it's just me.. i seriously cannot stand looking at those 2 posers declare their undying love to each other la.
Bleurgh.

I thought the ending execution when the red curtains came down was very cool indeed.
Ended like how a musical normally would.

Nice music.
Nice poster.

High School Musical 1 was still the best.
Stick to the Status Quo is my definite favourite among all the songs in the 3 movies.

MAMA MIA - just felt WEIRD when i walked out the cinema.

i honestly dunno wat to think of it.
It's not awesomely nice. Not rotten bad as well.
There werent many nicely choreographed dances.
Nor were there scenes that made me go "Wow. Now THAT's cool".
But on the other hand i can't blame them cuz they probably wanted that whole "natural" feel to the movie i guess.
The whole beach side lighting. The casual apparels. The slumber attitude.
They cut down on bold colours as well. Nothing too out-there.

I get that it's a movie done specifiaclly to fit the ABBA numbers but.........
There were a handfull of scenes that just made me cringe in shrivelness.
ie everytime Pierce Brosnan voice-projects.
Oh the horror.

The sondtrack's in my playlist though.

When singing HONEY HONEY you absolutely HAVE to sing it the way Amanda Seyfried does it in the movie...

Honey Honey how he thrils me *UH HUHHHH* honey honey.

Full breathy exhale when UH HUHHHH-ing.

HAIRSPRAY still rocks la.

FINALLY, a post about THAILAND

So how awesome was Thailand?

Awesomenessly Awesome.

(yalo. overdue again. meant to blog about this for a long time ady but once again..... aih...)

Flashback to July when i had just returned from Langkawi with Berns and the gang.
My world is immediately thrown into the turmoil again when Carin turns to me, bambi-eyes me intensely, and asks "Want to go krabi or not?"

i think for awhile. (5 minutes to be precise)
And nod.

Next thing i know i'm hopping on the early morning cab on the 25th September, making my way to LCCT, for my flight to Krabi, Thailand!

We were in Thailand for about 6 days and we stayed at 2 locations - the LaPlaya Resort in Krabi & the Phi Phi Island Nature Resort on Phi Phi Island.

Both places were superbly comfortable.
The entourage consisted of 3 of us.
It wasn't a big group.

For the 1st time ever, i took a room for myself throughout this whole trip.

Yup. Solo room for myself.

Phi Phi

Some people enjoy going trips with 236876223 ppl in a group then cramping in 1 room to save cost and i am all for cost-efficiency and value for money.....
but in this case, when peace of mind was of high priority, i prefer my room spacious and personal.

And my god it felt really good.
Walk in room no need to take care of other ppl's "feelings".
Items can throw here throw there.
Can have the whole bed to myself
No need to take number when wanna bathe.
~~Can walk around naked.~~
~~Can shit with door open.~~
Endless perks.

It felt so. so. liberating.

Anyway,

Our 1st destination in Krabi was this place called "Tiger Cave"
Statues here. Pointy temples there.... Nothing much.

Tiger spotted.

No "Tigers" spotted though.

Then it started to rain. Heavily.
So we ended up sitting under the shade oberserving all the foreigners that passed by...

After that we were off to the fish farm to feast our eyes on these gigantuas-looking fishes that freaked / facinated the heck out of me cuz the water was quite scary, murky and bubbly. You can't see what's underneath.
And every once in a while u can spot this HUUUUGE fin braise across the surface of the water just enough for you to get a rough estimation of it's size.... VERY freaky.

The indoor hatchery offered us swarms of baby Sea horses & young Nemo's cuddling all over the water.
Can hear the girls giving the high pitch "Aiyerrrr so kiut!!!" shreak every 5 minutes.

The days that followed saw us going for long snorkling trip, town tours and seaside sunset walks alot.

The boat ride to the various beaches / snorkling locations itself was comparable to the jeep ride at Lata Berembun.
It was THAT bumpy. I was clinging on for my life once again as the speedboat sliced through the ocean water, bumping humping and slamming up and down you could easily be fling-ed out if you weren't careful.

I made some new friends there i never expected to befriend.
All because the conversation eventually lead to 1 common ground: facebook.
Worship facebook pls.

Krabi beach wasn't that nice.
It felt like Port Dickson.
Ya.

I think it's because it was located right next to the Krabi town so.... erm. polluted abit.

But the Phi Phi Island beach was very very nice.
We were there during the non-peak season so we practically had the WHOLE private beach to ourselves.

Very nice beach.
Perfect place to relax, lepak and read book. (American God's almost done... almost... a few more chapters left...)

Don't ask me why but the 2 travel aunties i went Krabi with couldnt let go of Internet longer than 24 hours the whole time we were there. Every location people busy sight-seeing, they busy going "Look out for Cyber Cafe! spot spot! Find!! Tonight we can go!!" -_-

And on the day before we left, we went Canoeing.
the 2 aunties left me there to partner myself with random stranger (Cuz you need 2 people to canoe)
Dang it.
We placed our camera's into waterproof bags and brought it along with us for the ride.

So i take alot of photos.

I didnt get her facebook. I tried.

Monkey came to find me.

So we arrive safely at the shore after the whole journey,
i grab hold of the bag with our cameras inside,
stand up to put my leg on the platform ..
when i suddenly lose my balance, wobble, hands start flailing in circles...
And I FALL back-first into sea water behind me in a big nice splash.............

THAT'S when i knew it la.
SHITness had befalled upon me.

I hold up the bag containing our cameras, only to see water gushing out.

And erm... as they say, the rest is history la.
My trusty IXUS 75 is no longer usable as i type this.
CANON charge me RM665 for repair.
I told them dun bother.

I got a new camera.

Carin wasn't so fortunate as well.... her's was a whopping RM700 for repairs.
I'm paying 50%.
After all, my fault it was.
I take responsibilities for my clumsy-doings.

aih.

So yeah, potong-stim incident that left us silent on the way back from the canoe-trip.
Everyone was just so stoned after that.

But dun worry. we eventually got over it by night. (after i apologized on 1 knee ~~like heartbroken crybaby in public...)~~

All in all it was a wonderful trip la.

Abit pricey cuz i took a room for myself... (and the stupid camera cost)
But seriously worth it.

A bad case of Sunburn.
It wasn't pretty.
Nor was it pleasant.

Dun worry.
I wasn't the only one...

I feel my skin 3 layers tougher and tanner now.
